NIA's Austin Rare Coins Review

To purchase precious metals from Austin Rare Coins, you can either click on "Gold Bullion" or "Silver Dollars" from the top menu. This will take you to a page displaying their categories of products including American Gold Eagles, Canadian Maple Leafs, etc. You can also use their left side menu to click on "Buy Gold Bullion Now" or "Silver Coins & Bars", and the detailed category types will appear on the menu for you to choose from.

The layout of Austin's web site is somewhat confusing and they don't have a page for displaying all of their products.

Austin only offers one size of American Gold Eagles and Canadian Gold Maple Leafs (1 oz). At the time of our review, the American Gold Eagle was priced $75.54 higher than Bullion Direct and the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf was priced $62.04 higher than Bullion Direct.

Austin only sells American Silver Eagles in rolls of 20. At the time of our review, even when buying these silver coins in quantity, the price per coin for American Silver Eagles was $3.89 higher than Lear Capital.

Austin accepts credit cards for orders up to $2,500 and does not charge an extra credit card processing fee. They claim to offer discounts for larger orders when paid by personal check or bank wire, but they don't publicly display these exact details.

We were charged a shipping/handling fee of $25 for a 1 oz gold coin and the order arrived in 10 business days.
