To purchase precious metals on Lear Capital's web site you need to click on the "Buy Bullion" link on the top menu of the homepage. Lear Capital then provides a list displaying all of their gold, platinum and silver products together on one page along with their latest prices. We believe this type of layout is the easiest for customers to compare products and make educated purchase decisions.
For gold, Lear Capital offers American Eagles, American Buffalo, Canadian Maple Leafs, Austrian Philharmonics, Austrian 4 Ducats, British Sovereigns, South African Kruggerands, and Swiss 20 Francs. For the American Eagles and Canadian Maple Leafs, Lear Capital offers 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 gold coins. Lear Capital doesn't offer any gold bars.
At the time of our review update, Lear Capital’s prices were $3.68 higher than Bullion Direct for a 1 oz American Eagle, $14.05 higher than Bullion Direct for a 1 oz Canadian Maple Leaf, and $14.69 higher than Gainesville Coins for a 1 oz South African Kruggerand.
For silver, Lear Capital had the lowest price for a 1 oz American Eagle silver coin and the lowest price for a 1 oz silver round.
Unfortunately, Lear Capital doesn't accept credit cards for payment. Payment may be made by bank wire, certified check, personal check, or money order. Funds must be mailed within 48 hours and if you are unable to mail within that time you need to call their offices.
Lear Capital charged us a $25.00 shipping/handling/insurance fee and did not offer an expedited shipping option.
