{"id":10207,"date":"2026-09-05T16:38:03","date_gmt":"2026-09-05T20:38:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.inflation.us\/news\/?p=10207"},"modified":"2026-09-05T16:38:05","modified_gmt":"2026-09-05T20:38:05","slug":"volta-has-7th-largest-ree-resource-in-north-america","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.inflation.us\/news\/articles\/volta-has-7th-largest-ree-resource-in-north-america\/","title":{"rendered":"Volta Has 7th Largest REE Resource in North America"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div style=\"max-width:650px; margin:0 auto; padding:0 10px; box-sizing:border-box; font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:16px; line-height:1.6; color:#333333; -webkit-text-size-adjust:100%; -ms-text-size-adjust:100%; mso-line-height-rule:exactly; display:block;\">\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\"><strong>Volta Metals (CSE: VLTA)<\/strong> has the <strong><span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">7th largest<\/span> Rare Earth Element (REE) resource<\/strong> in North America because not only is its <span style=\"color:#2980b9;\"><strong>footprint<\/strong><\/span> of <strong>REEs<\/strong> absolutely <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>massive<\/strong><\/span> at <strong>700 metres by 400 metres<\/strong>, or <strong>0.28 sq km<\/strong>, but many of its <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>drill intercepts<\/strong><\/span> extend to depths of approximately <strong>300 m<\/strong>, which shows the <span style=\"color:#2980b9;\"><strong>importance of depth<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\">This is why <strong>Saga Metals (TSXV: SAGA)&#8217;s announcement<\/strong> this week that the company <strong><span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">intersected<\/span> 169 metres<\/strong> of the shallowly dipping prospective REE-bearing volcanic ash tuff unit in its <strong><span style=\"color:#2980b9;\">very first<\/span> drill hole<\/strong> is so important.<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\">Scientists reported in 1993 that <strong>SAGA&#8217;s Wolverine Heavy Rare Earth Project<\/strong> contained rare-metal mineralization that was <strong>32 metres thick<\/strong> in one occurrence and at least <strong>4 metres thick over an area of 14 square kilometres<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inflation.us\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/sagawolverineconclusions.jpg\" style=\"width:581px; max-width:100%; height:auto;\"><\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\">We already know from the initial shallow RC drill holes completed in 2025 that strong REE grades were discovered at depths greater than scientists had imagined:<\/p>\n\n<ul style=\"margin:0 0 14px; padding-left:24px;\">\n\t<li style=\"margin:0 0 6px;\"><strong>WOLRC25-003:<\/strong>&nbsp;48.8 m @ 0.77% total rare earth oxides (&ldquo;TREO*&rdquo;) from 1.5 m, including 18.3 m @ 1.06% TREO<\/li>\n\t<li style=\"margin:0 0 6px;\"><strong>WOLRC25-006:<\/strong>&nbsp;38.1 m @ 0.71% TREO from surface, including 4.6 m @ 1.53% TREO<\/li>\n\t<li style=\"margin:0;\"><strong>WOLRC25-002:<\/strong>&nbsp;51.8 m @ 0.52% TREO from surface, including 33.5 m @ 0.67% TREO<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\">And now we know in 2026 that <strong>SAGA&#8217;s <span style=\"color:#2980b9;\">very first<\/span> hole <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">intersected<\/span> 169 metres of prospective REE-bearing volcanic ash tuff<\/strong>, which <span style=\"color:#e74c3c;\"><strong>nobody thought was possible<\/strong><\/span>. Most importantly, <strong>SAGA<\/strong> made it clear that it <span style=\"color:#e74c3c;\"><strong>doesn&#8217;t believe it stops<\/strong><\/span> there.<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\"><strong>SAGA <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">described<\/span> W26-001<\/strong> as being at the <span style=\"color:#2980b9;\"><strong>cool, upper end of the feeder<\/strong><\/span>, meaning the highest-grade REEs could potentially be located even deeper. However, the contract SAGA signed for an initial <strong>4,000-5,000 m of drilling<\/strong> is something the company wants to use to <span style=\"color:#2980b9;\"><strong>prove<\/strong><\/span> the <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>massive scale<\/strong><\/span> of Wolverine, which has the <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>potential to reach 26 sq km<\/strong><\/span> in scale.<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\">If <strong>SAGA <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">drills<\/span> 340 m holes<\/strong> right now, that means <strong><span style=\"color:#e74c3c;\">fewer<\/span> metres are available<\/strong> to demonstrate the <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>massive scale<\/strong><\/span> of the system. However, <strong>SAGA<\/strong> quietly <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>raised millions<\/strong><\/span> <span style=\"color:#2980b9;\"><strong>more<\/strong><\/span> this week at a <span style=\"color:#2980b9;\"><strong>premium<\/strong><\/span> <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>above<\/strong><\/span> the current share price, <strong><span style=\"color:#e74c3c;\">without<\/span> issuing any warrants<\/strong> to investors. This should put the company in a position to <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>increase the size<\/strong><\/span> of the drilling program after assays are returned from the lab.<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\">The photo below <span style=\"color:#e74c3c;\"><strong>isn&#8217;t even part<\/strong><\/span> of <strong>SAGA&#8217;s <span style=\"color:#2980b9;\">26 sq km REE ash-flow footprint<\/span><\/strong>, but it shows the area where samples were discovered grading as high as <strong>21.6% Total Rare Earth Oxide (TREO)<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inflation.us\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/sagamassivenewsheavyrareearths5.jpg\" style=\"width:600px; max-width:100%; height:auto;\"><\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\"><strong>SAGA&#8217;s rocks at Wolverine<\/strong> are among the <span style=\"color:#e74c3c;\"><strong>oldest in the world<\/strong><\/span>. These are the <span style=\"color:#2980b9;\"><strong>same rocks that were once connected<\/strong><\/span> to <strong>Greenland<\/strong>, where some of the <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>largest and most valuable known REE deposits<\/strong><\/span> are located.<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0;\"><span style=\"font-size:8px;\"><em>Past performance is not an indicator of future returns.
