First Mining Gold (TSX: FF)<\/strong> is having the most important<\/strong><\/span> year in its eleven-year history… and almost nobody<\/strong><\/span> is paying attention<\/strong><\/span> yet, but that is about to change. On June 30, 2026<\/strong>, First Mining received<\/span> federal Environmental Assessment approval<\/span><\/strong> for its Springpole Gold Project<\/span><\/strong> in northwestern Ontario, clearing the single largest hurdle<\/strong><\/span> standing between one of Canada’s largest<\/span> undeveloped<\/span> gold deposits<\/span><\/strong> and construction<\/strong><\/span>. Springpole<\/strong> is set to become one of Canada’s next major<\/span> producing<\/span> gold mines<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

But Springpole<\/strong> is only half the story. In May 2026<\/strong>, First Mining launched<\/span><\/strong> a 15,000-metre drill program<\/strong> at its larger-scale<\/span> Duparquet Gold Project<\/span><\/strong> in Quebec… a project that already hosts 3.44 million ounces<\/strong> of gold<\/span><\/strong> in the Measured & Indicated<\/strong> category grading<\/span> 1.55 g\/t Au<\/span><\/strong>, plus another 2.64 million ounces<\/strong> of gold<\/span><\/strong> in the Inferred<\/strong> category grading<\/span> 1.62 g\/t Au<\/span><\/strong>, for a total gold resource<\/strong><\/span> of just over<\/span> 6 million ounces<\/strong>. Duparquet<\/strong> is now likely to see significant growth<\/strong><\/span> in its gold resources<\/strong><\/span> following a major<\/strong><\/span> new high-grade <\/strong><\/span>gold<\/strong><\/span> discovery<\/strong><\/span> reported on Wednesday at the Miroir<\/strong> target.<\/p>\n\n

On Wednesday, First Mining<\/strong> reported<\/strong><\/span> its best<\/span> drill hole<\/strong> at Miroir<\/strong> to date, intercepting<\/span><\/strong> 5.26 g\/t Au<\/span> over 19.55 metres<\/strong> in drill hole DUP26-093, including 7.58 g\/t Au<\/span> over 12.95 metres<\/strong> and a spectacular 21.80 g\/t Au<\/span> over 1.0 metre<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

And DUP26-093 was not alone:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t

Why These Numbers Are So Significant<\/h3>\n\n

Duparquet’s existing<\/span> Measured & Indicated gold resource<\/span><\/strong> averages roughly 1.55 g\/t Au<\/strong><\/span>. The intercepts<\/strong><\/span> First Mining<\/strong> just reported<\/strong><\/span> at Miroir<\/strong> are running two to three times above<\/span> that grade<\/strong>, and DUP26-093 came in at more than three times above<\/strong><\/span> it. In any open-pit<\/strong> or hybrid mine plan<\/strong>, a higher-grade<\/span> zone<\/strong> located near surface<\/strong><\/span> and inside the existing project footprint has a disproportionate impact<\/strong><\/span> on early-years cash flow<\/span><\/strong>, capital payback<\/strong><\/span>, and net present value<\/strong><\/span>. Adding<\/span> ounces<\/strong> at 5 g\/t<\/strong><\/span> is not the same<\/strong><\/span> as adding<\/span> ounces<\/strong> at 1.5 g\/t<\/strong><\/span>… it’s dramatically better<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n\n

Since NIA first<\/span> reported<\/span><\/strong> about First Mining’s Miroir discovery<\/span><\/strong> less than one year ago on September 24, 2025, it has gone from 140 metres of strike and 100 metres of depth<\/strong> to approximately 220 metres of strike and 250 metres of depth<\/strong>… and First Mining<\/strong> states plainly that the deposit “remains open in all directions for additional exploration.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Wednesday’s assays<\/span><\/strong> covered approximately 1,553 metres out of 2,994 metres<\/strong> already drilled<\/strong><\/span> at Miroir<\/strong> in recent months… and is only a fraction<\/strong><\/span> of the 15,000-metre program<\/strong> that runs<\/strong><\/span> into Q4 2026<\/strong>. Even the headline hole<\/strong> is incomplete<\/strong><\/span>: assays<\/strong><\/span> for the final 12 samples<\/strong> of DUP26-096 are still pending<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n\n

More results are coming shortly<\/span> with a resource update already underway!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Remember: Duparquet’s current resource estimate<\/strong> has an effective date of September 12, 2022. In the four years since, First Mining<\/strong> has drilled<\/strong><\/span> approximately 48,000 metres<\/strong> across the project… at both established resource areas and brand-new discoveries<\/strong><\/span> like Miroir<\/strong>. None of these 48,000 metres<\/strong> of drilling<\/strong><\/span> are reflected<\/strong><\/span> in the official<\/strong><\/span> 6-million-ounce<\/span> resource<\/strong> figure.<\/p>\n\n

It was just announced this morning that First Mining Gold (TSX: FF)<\/strong> is being added<\/strong><\/span> to the VanEck Junior Gold Miners ETF (GDXJ)<\/strong>, which should allow for a significant upward revaluation<\/strong><\/span> in the near-term<\/strong><\/span> as the AI boom<\/span><\/strong> goes bust<\/strong><\/span> and investors<\/strong> begin to invest<\/strong><\/span> into GDXJ<\/strong> for the first time<\/strong><\/span> this cycle<\/strong>. GDXJ<\/strong> has seen outflows<\/strong><\/span> for 23 of the last 29 months<\/strong> with GDXJ ownership<\/strong> bottoming on August 4th at a new 10-year low<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n\n

First Mining Gold (TSX: FF) Chairman Keith Neumeyer purchased another<\/span> 853,500 FF shares<\/strong> in July after the company received<\/span> EA Approval<\/strong> at Springpole at prices of $0.68-$0.7839 per share<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Over the last 10 months, Keith Neumeyer<\/strong> has purchased<\/span> 7,937,500 FF shares<\/strong>, including open-market<\/strong><\/span> purchases<\/strong><\/span> of exactly 7.5 MILLION shares<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n

Keith Neumeyer<\/strong> is one of the mining industry’s most successful<\/span> investors<\/strong>, having previously founded<\/strong><\/span> multi-billion-dollar<\/strong><\/span> companies First Quantum Minerals (TSX: FM)<\/strong> with a market cap of $35 billion<\/strong><\/span>, First Majestic Silver (TSX: AG)<\/strong> with a market cap of $12.97 billion<\/strong><\/span>, and Snowline Gold (TSX: SGD)<\/strong> with a market cap of $3.11 billion<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n\n
