Medicure (TSXV: MPH) gained by 3.41%<\/span><\/strong> on Friday to $4.25 per share<\/strong> and if they get FDA approval<\/span><\/strong> for their drug that is in Phase 3 trials<\/strong> (NIA's President<\/strong> has spent hundreds of hours doing research<\/strong><\/span> and the drug works<\/span><\/strong>) they will receive<\/strong><\/span> an FDA Priority Review Voucher (PRV)<\/strong>. A PRV<\/strong> allows a pharmaceutical company<\/strong> to accelerate<\/strong><\/span> the FDA review<\/strong> of a future<\/span> drug application<\/strong>, generally reducing<\/strong><\/span> the review target<\/strong> from 10 months to 6 months. The FDA<\/strong> allows<\/strong><\/span> these vouchers<\/strong><\/span> to be sold<\/strong><\/span> or transferred<\/strong><\/span> to other companies.<\/p>\n\n

This month a NASDAQ-listed biotech company Ultragenyx<\/strong> sold two<\/strong><\/span> PRVs<\/strong>. On October 14th they sold a PRV for US$203 million<\/strong><\/span> and on October 7th they sold a PRV for US$210 million<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n\n

If Medicure (TSXV: MPH)<\/strong> gets FDA approval<\/span><\/strong> and receives<\/span><\/strong> a PRV<\/strong> they are likely to sell it to the highest<\/strong><\/span> bidder<\/strong> for US$203-$210 million<\/strong><\/span>, which would be equal to CAD$286.65-$296.53 million<\/strong><\/span>. MPH<\/strong> has only 10,436,313 shares outstanding<\/strong>. If they get FDA approval<\/span><\/strong> the PRV<\/strong> they receive<\/strong><\/span> will be worth approximately $27.46-$28.41 per share<\/strong> in value to MPH shareholders<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Unlike the high-risk<\/span> biotech stocks Martin Shkreli suggests<\/span><\/strong> to his followers many of which decline to zero<\/strong><\/span>, MPH<\/strong> is burning very little cash<\/strong><\/span> because it owns<\/strong><\/span> a pharmacy business<\/strong> that generates significant<\/span> revenue<\/strong> and positive<\/span> EBITDA<\/strong>. Medicure (TSXV: MPH) owns<\/span><\/strong> pharmacies<\/strong> on both the east and west coasts of the U.S. where they sell exclusive<\/span> prescription drug products<\/strong> both at their pharmacies<\/strong> in person and online through their telehealth platform<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

NIA's President didn't<\/span><\/strong> want anybody to guess<\/strong><\/span> the stock<\/strong> he was accumulating<\/strong><\/span> before he was able to purchase<\/strong><\/span> an initial<\/span> position<\/strong>, so we said two months ago that he was accumulating<\/strong><\/span> a biotech stock<\/strong> with a $2 million market cap<\/strong>. MPH<\/strong> has never<\/strong><\/span> traded at a $2 million market cap<\/strong>, but it certainly trades like one<\/strong><\/span>, because it is very tightly held<\/strong><\/span> with no dilution<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n\n

MPH<\/strong> is unlikely<\/strong><\/span> to gain as much<\/strong><\/span> as NIA's natural resource stock suggestions<\/span><\/strong>. NIA believes its most recently announced brand-new<\/span> copper stock<\/span> suggestions<\/span><\/strong> Ameriwest Critical Metals (CSE: AWCM)<\/strong>, Super Copper (CSE: CUPR)<\/strong>, and GSP Resource (TSXV: GSPR)<\/strong> have the most short-term<\/span> upside potential<\/span><\/strong>. However, Medicure (TSXV: MPH)<\/strong> has potential to become the world's<\/span> #1 largest gaining<\/span> biotech stock<\/strong> of 2027.<\/p>\n\n
