At some point in the not-too-distant future Solaris Resources (TSX: SLS)<\/strong> will be acquired<\/strong><\/span> at a large premium, but we just don't think the premium will be anywhere close to what Augusta Gold (TSX: G)<\/strong> gets acquired<\/strong><\/span> for, which is the only reason we don't own SLS<\/strong>. When SLS<\/strong> gets acquired<\/strong><\/span> all of their non-Warintza assets<\/span><\/strong> will be spun off<\/strong><\/span> to existing shareholders as a new publicly traded<\/span> Solaris Exploration<\/strong> company and it will initially trade with a market cap<\/strong> of approximately $200 million<\/strong><\/span> primarily<\/strong><\/span> for J. David Lowell's <\/strong>La Verde<\/strong> in Mexico.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Minaurum Gold (TSXV: MGG)<\/strong> is similar<\/strong><\/span> to SLS<\/strong> because it has so many good assets including J. David Lowell's Santa Marta <\/strong>in Mexico. Therefore, if MGG<\/strong> were to be acquired<\/strong><\/span> at some point in the future for its Alamos Silver Project<\/span><\/strong> just like MGG's co-founders<\/strong> saw their MAG Silver (MAG) acquired<\/span><\/strong> last month for $2.1 billion<\/strong><\/span>, we would expect all of their non-Alamos assets<\/span><\/strong> including Santa Marta<\/strong> to be spun off<\/strong><\/span> to existing shareholders as a new publicly traded<\/span> <\/strong>company.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

MGG's CEO<\/strong> said in a brand-new<\/span> interview<\/strong>:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

“The proverbial switch flipped<\/strong><\/span> about three weeks ago. Back in March, we attended PDAC<\/strong> in Toronto — one of the world’s largest mining conferences, with around 25,000 attendees. We saw the banks at receptions, attended a number of those events, and while there was always some interest — especially given our high-grade<\/span> silver<\/span><\/strong> and growing<\/span> scale<\/strong> — we were the ones initiating the conversations. But over the past three weeks, that’s changed. Now they’re the ones calling us. There’s a ton of interest.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

A big driver<\/strong><\/span> has been MAG Silver<\/strong> — Peter Megaw<\/strong>, who discovered<\/span> Juanicipio<\/strong> and other major deposits, was their key<\/span> technical mind<\/strong>, and he’s still closely involved<\/strong><\/span> with Minaurum<\/strong>. That alone has brought a lot of attention. We’ve also brought on former SilverCrest personnel<\/strong>, including a senior resource modeler<\/strong> from Las Chispas<\/strong>, who’s been instrumental<\/strong><\/span> in advancing<\/strong><\/span> our upcoming maiden resource<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

As we move forward, I think the interest is only going to grow. We’re not<\/strong><\/span> seeing the ‘big five’ Canadian banks<\/strong> — like BMO<\/strong> and TD<\/strong> — at the table just yet, since they typically wait until post-resource<\/strong>. But many of the well-known<\/span> institutional banks<\/strong> that were previously hesitant<\/strong><\/span> to engage<\/span> pre-resource<\/strong> are now coming forward. We're also setting up analyst calls almost daily, which hasn’t happened consistently since 2021. That kind of inbound attention went dead for about three years after the 2020 rush, but now it feels like it’s coming back in a more stable, growth-oriented way — not just another fleeting spike.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n
