Other times he will have companies that we can only describe as more <strong>&quot;promotional&quot;<\/strong> type of plays.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:Tahoma,Geneva,sans-serif;\">One example of a <span style=\"color:#2980b9;\"><strong>real<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color:#f1c40f;\"><strong> gold project<\/strong><\/span> he helped <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>advance<\/strong><\/span> was the <strong>Los Filos <span style=\"color:#f1c40f;\">gold project<\/span><\/strong> in Mexico that he acquired in 2017 and later sold to <strong>Equinox Gold (EQX)<\/strong>.&nbsp;<strong>Los Filos<\/strong> became one of the <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>largest<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color:#f1c40f;\"><strong> gold mines<\/strong><\/span> in all of Mexico. Who originally <strong><span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">discovered<\/span> Los Filos<\/strong>?&nbsp;<strong>David M. Jones<\/strong> co-founder of <strong>Minaurum Gold (TSXV: MGG)<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:Tahoma,Geneva,sans-serif;\">By contrast, <strong>Frank Giustra&rsquo;s Argenta Silver (TSXV: AGAG)<\/strong> seems more like a <strong>promotional play<\/strong>. They paid only <strong>US$3.5 million<\/strong> for <strong>El Quevar<\/strong> less than one year ago, yet today <strong>AGAG<\/strong> already commands a market cap of <strong>CAD$178.28 million<\/strong>. Although their <strong>intercepts<\/strong> may look <span style=\"color:#2980b9;\"><strong>impressive<\/strong><\/span> on paper, <strong>El Quevar<\/strong>&nbsp;has <strong><span style=\"color:#e74c3c;\">complex<\/span> mineralogy<\/strong> including <strong>sulphosalts<\/strong> like tennantite&ndash;tetrahedrite and enargite&ndash;luzonite, along with galena, sphalerite, and bismuthinite. Such <strong><span style=\"color:#e74c3c;\">complex<\/span> mineral assemblages<\/strong> can <strong><span style=\"color:#e74c3c;\">significantly impede<\/span> <span style=\"color:#4e5f70;\">silver recovery<\/span><\/strong> using standard flotation or leaching techniques.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:Tahoma,Geneva,sans-serif;\">Adding to the <span style=\"color:#e74c3c;\"><strong>concern<\/strong><\/span>, the company&rsquo;s <strong>2024 MD&amp;A<\/strong> disclosed <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>elevated<\/strong><\/span> levels of <strong>arsenic<\/strong>, <strong>antimony<\/strong>, and <strong>bismuth<\/strong> in the flotation concentrate. These <span style=\"color:#e74c3c;\"><strong>impurities<\/strong><\/span> not only pose <strong>environmental handling <span style=\"color:#e74c3c;\">risks<\/span><\/strong> but also lead to <span style=\"color:#e74c3c;\"><strong>penalties<\/strong><\/span> and <strong>treatment <span style=\"color:#e74c3c;\">challenges<\/span><\/strong> when marketing the concentrate.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:Tahoma,Geneva,sans-serif;\">In other words, while <strong>Giustra<\/strong> has proven himself with certain <span style=\"color:#2980b9;\"><strong>world-class<\/strong><\/span> mining deals, <strong>Argenta Silver&rsquo;s El Quevar acquisition<\/strong> has more <span style=\"color:#e74c3c;\"><strong>red flags<\/strong><\/span> than green lights. Investors should carefully weigh whether this is another <strong>Los Filos-type <span style=\"color:#2980b9;\">opportunity<\/span><\/strong> or simply a <strong>story stock<\/strong> trading on <span style=\"color:#e74c3c;\"><strong>hype<\/strong><\/span> rather than <strong>long-term economic potential<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:Tahoma,Geneva,sans-serif;\">By comparison, <strong>Minaurum Gold (TSXV: MGG)&rsquo;s <span style=\"color:#2980b9;\">flagship<\/span> Alamos <span style=\"color:#4e5f70;\">Silver Project<\/span><\/strong>&nbsp;has <span style=\"color:#2980b9;\"><strong>consistently <\/strong><\/span><strong>demonstrated<\/strong> <strong><span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">strong<\/span> metallurgical recoveries<\/strong> in testing of up to 94% silver and 96% gold (<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsfilecorp.com\/release\/204539\/Minaurum-Reports-Robust-Metallurgical-Results-at-Alamos-Silver-Project-Recovers-up-to-94-Silver-and-96-Gold\">click here<\/a><\/strong> to read their April 9, 2024, press release with recovery details). <strong>Minaurum&#39;s Alamos <span style=\"color:#4e5f70;\">Silver Project<\/span><\/strong> is already <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>fully permitted<\/strong><\/span> for <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>production<\/strong><\/span>&nbsp;and in December 2024, the company <strong><span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">signed<\/span> 29\u2011year, extendable ejido community agreements<\/strong> with the<strong> La Aduana<\/strong> and <strong>Tetajiosa ejidos&nbsp;<span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">covering 100%<\/span><\/strong> of the <strong>core project area<\/strong>&nbsp;and secured <span style=\"color:#2980b9;\"><strong>unanimous<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong> approval<\/strong><\/span> from those communities.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:Tahoma,Geneva,sans-serif;\"><em>Past performance is not an indicator of future returns.
