Rusoro Mining (TSXV: RML) gained by 21.05%<\/span><\/strong> today to $0.115 per share<\/strong>!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The U.S. Treasury<\/strong> has authorized<\/strong><\/span> representatives of Citgo<\/strong> to negotiate settlements<\/strong><\/span> with RML<\/strong> and other creditors of Venezuela<\/strong> to avoid<\/strong><\/span> an auction<\/strong><\/span> of Citgo<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

For many years, the U.S. Treasury<\/strong> was protecting<\/span> Citgo<\/strong> from its creditors<\/strong> by prohibiting<\/strong><\/span> an auction<\/strong><\/span> of Citgo<\/strong> from taking place. On May 1st, the U.S. Treasury<\/strong> reversed<\/b><\/span> <\/b><\/font>its policy<\/strong> and is no longer<\/span> protecting<\/span> Citgo<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

This means RML<\/strong> is likely to soon collect its US$1.7 billion<\/strong><\/span> judgment<\/strong> against<\/strong><\/span> Venezuela<\/strong> through an auction<\/strong><\/span> of Citgo<\/strong>, unless Citgo<\/strong> can prevent<\/strong><\/span> an auction<\/strong><\/span> from taking place by negotiating settlements<\/strong><\/span> with RML<\/strong> and other creditors of Venezuela<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

NIA believes the most likely scenario<\/span> is Citgo will settle<\/span> with RML and use a portion of its massive monthly profits<\/span> to pay<\/span> RML its US$1.7 billion<\/span> (or possibly a slightly reduced<\/span> amount of $1.2-$1.5 billion<\/span>) over a period of 4-6 years. If Citgo doesn’t<\/span> settle<\/span> with RML and the other creditors… an auction<\/span> will take place<\/span>! Citgo has been reporting record profits<\/span> so it shouldn’t have any problem<\/span> negotiating<\/span> settlements<\/span> with all of its creditors, and if an auction<\/span> does take place<\/span>… Citgo would sell for approximately 10X<\/span> net income or $28 billion<\/span>!<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n
