{"id":7496,"date":"2026-03-25T10:56:54","date_gmt":"2026-03-25T14:56:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.inflation.us\/news\/?p=7496"},"modified":"2026-03-25T10:56:56","modified_gmt":"2026-03-25T14:56:56","slug":"the-defense-metal-nobody-is-watching-right-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.inflation.us\/news\/articles\/the-defense-metal-nobody-is-watching-right-now\/","title":{"rendered":"The Defense Metal Nobody Is Watching Right Now"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div style=\"font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.7; color: #222; max-width: 700px; margin: 0 auto;\">\n<p>All of the focus right now is on <strong>antimony<\/strong>, <strong>tungsten<\/strong>, and <strong>rare earth elements (REEs)<\/strong>, but one of the most <span style=\"color:#2980b9;\"><strong>critical materials<\/strong><\/span> for modern aerospace and defense is <strong>titanium<\/strong>&#8230; and almost nobody is paying attention to it.<\/p>\n\n<p>At the moment, titanium is <span style=\"color:#e74c3c;\"><strong>not being treated as a strategic metal<\/strong><\/span> by the market, but that could change quickly as the U.S. ramps up production of next-generation <strong>fighter jets<\/strong> and defense systems.<\/p>\n\n<p>There is a <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>little-known emerging titanium-vanadium-iron discovery<\/strong><\/span> near <strong>Cartwright, Labrador, Canada<\/strong>&#8230; and the company behind it has been consistently hitting strong mineralization in every drill hole.<\/p>\n\n<p>The company is <strong>SAGA Metals Corp. (TSXV: SAGA)<\/strong>, currently <strong>$0.475 per share<\/strong> and on March 18th it reported results from its latest three drill holes:<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Hole R-0018:<\/strong> 70.3 m @ <strong>42.64% Fe\u2082O\u2083<\/strong>, <strong>5.66% TiO\u2082<\/strong>, <strong>0.288% V\u2082O\u2085<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Hole R-0019:<\/strong> 45.7 m @ <strong>49.51% Fe\u2082O\u2083<\/strong>, <strong>6.56% TiO\u2082<\/strong>, <strong>0.374% V\u2082O\u2085<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Hole R-0020:<\/strong> 40.7 m @ <strong>37.62% Fe\u2082O\u2083<\/strong>, <strong>4.93% TiO\u2082<\/strong>, <strong>0.239% V\u2082O\u2085<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>These intercepts highlight a <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>large-scale Fe&ndash;Ti&ndash;V system<\/strong><\/span>, with consistent iron, titanium, and vanadium mineralization across wide intervals.<\/p>\n\n<p>A few weeks earlier, SAGA released results from its first two holes of 2026:<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Hole R-0016:<\/strong> 50.60 m @ <strong>52.05% Fe\u2082O\u2083<\/strong>, <strong>7.21% TiO\u2082<\/strong>, <strong>0.375% V\u2082O\u2085<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Hole R-0017:<\/strong> 90.01 m @ <strong>51.86% Fe\u2082O\u2083<\/strong>, <strong>6.76% TiO\u2082<\/strong>, <strong>0.417% V\u2082O\u2085<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>These results demonstrate <span style=\"color:#2980b9;\"><strong>strong grades for a bulk-tonnage system<\/strong><\/span>, with meaningful vanadium credits and consistent titanium values.<\/p>\n\n<p>SAGA has now confirmed mineralization in <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>36 out of 36 drill holes<\/strong><\/span>, with two primary mineralized zones identified to date.<\/p>\n\n<p>Current drilling is focused on the <strong>Trapper Zone<\/strong>, but the broader Radar property spans <strong>24,175 hectares<\/strong> and covers the entire <strong>Dykes River intrusive complex (~160 km&sup2;)<\/strong>&#8230; a scale rarely seen among Western explorers.<\/p>\n\n<p>Geological mapping, geophysics, and trenching have already confirmed <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>oxide layering over more than 20 km of strike<\/strong><\/span>, with mineralization open in multiple directions.<\/p>\n\n<p>In 2026 alone, SAGA has completed <strong>21 holes (R-0016 to R-0036)<\/strong>, including very thick oxide intercepts such as:<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>154.77 m (R-0026)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>151.41 m (R-0032)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Both consisting predominantly of <span style=\"color:#2980b9;\"><strong>semi-massive oxide with extensive rhythmic layering<\/strong><\/span>, reinforcing the potential for a large, continuous mineralized system.<\/p>\n\n<p><span style=\"color:#e74c3c;\"><strong>Most investors are chasing metals already in crisis&#8230; while ignoring one that is essential to modern defense and still completely out of favor.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n<div style=\"font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; line-height: 1.5; color: #777; max-width: 700px; margin: 30px auto 0 auto; border-top: 1px solid #ddd; padding-top: 12px;\">\n<p><em>Past performance is not an indicator of future returns.
