{"id":7729,"date":"2024-12-25T04:58:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-25T08:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.inflation.us\/news\/?p=7729"},"modified":"2026-04-05T00:34:20","modified_gmt":"2026-04-05T04:34:20","slug":"how-tether-paid-off-howard-lutnick","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.inflation.us\/news\/articles\/how-tether-paid-off-howard-lutnick\/","title":{"rendered":"How Tether Paid Off Howard Lutnick"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><font face=\"sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">NIA was wondering for months why exactly <strong>Cantor Fitzgerald&#39;s Howard Lutnick<\/strong> was <strong><span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">promoting<\/span> Tether<\/strong> as a <strong><span style=\"color:#2980b9;\">legitimately backed<\/span> stablecoin<\/strong> and now we know how <strong>Lutnick<\/strong> was <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>paid off<\/strong><\/span> by <strong>Tether<\/strong>. <strong>Cantor <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">took<\/span> Rumble (RUM) <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">public<\/span><\/strong> in one of its <strong>SPAC deals<\/strong> and remained one of its <strong><span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">largest<\/span> shareholders<\/strong>, and <strong>Tether<\/strong> is using some of their <strong><span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">newly printed dollars<\/span><\/strong> to <strong>&quot;<span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">invest<\/span>&quot; $775 million<\/strong> into <strong>Rumble (RUM)<\/strong> but only <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>$250 million<\/strong><\/span> in capital is going to actual <strong>RUM<\/strong>. <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>$525 million<\/strong><\/span> of it is being used to help <strong><span style=\"color:#2980b9;\">existing<\/span> shareholders<\/strong> like <strong>Cantor Fitzgerald &quot;<span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">cash out<\/span>&quot;<\/strong> of <strong>RUM<\/strong> at a <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>huge profit<\/strong><\/span>.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n\n<p><font face=\"sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><strong>Cantor<\/strong> most likely got their shares for the equivalent of <strong>$2 per share<\/strong> like most <strong>SPAC deals<\/strong> and <strong>Tether <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">announced <\/span><\/strong>it will <strong><span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">buy<\/span> 103.3 million Rumble Class A Common Stock shares<\/strong> at <strong>$7.50 per share each<\/strong>. We are in such a <strong><span style=\"color:#2980b9;\">bubble<\/span> environment<\/strong> due to the <strong>Fed<\/strong> making the <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>biggest<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color:#e74c3c;\"><strong> mistake ever<\/strong><\/span> and <strong><span style=\"color:#e74c3c;\">lowering<\/span> interest rates<\/strong> that <strong>RUM<\/strong> actually finished the week at <strong>$12.68 per share<\/strong> with an enterprise value of <strong><span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">40.52x <\/span>revenue<\/strong> for a company that reported a <strong>revenue <span style=\"color:#e74c3c;\">decline of 10%<\/span><\/strong> last quarter.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NIA was wondering for months why exactly Cantor Fitzgerald&#39;s Howard Lutnick was promoting Tether as a legitimately backed stablecoin and now we know how Lutnick was paid off by Tether.
