\nWhen Barrick<\/strong> initially began drilling at Fourmile<\/strong> in 2015, their\nfirst 10 holes<\/strong> came up\nsnake eyes<\/strong><\/span> where they\ndidn't<\/strong><\/span> hit much\ngold<\/span><\/strong>.\nThey were about to\ngive up<\/strong><\/span> but decided to drill one last hole,\nwhich became known as "hole 427".\n<\/p>\n\n

\nClick here<\/a><\/strong>\nto read a November 2018 Barrick article<\/strong> entitled,\n'Fourmile: Journey to a High-Grade Discovery'<\/strong>.\n<\/p>\n\n

\nAccording to the article,\n\n"In describing the findings from hole 427, he notes that the\nsilicification<\/span>,\nbrecciation<\/span>, and high sulfide levels in the core sample were all very encouraging.\nIn layman’s terms, this means there were clues in the sample, or what geologists refer to as\nalteration<\/span>, that were\nstrongly indicative<\/span> of\nhigh-grade<\/span> ore."\n<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n

\nWhen the assays came back from the lab,\nBarrick's Fourmile hole 427<\/strong> included an intercept of\n5.8 meters grading 49.7 g\/t gold<\/span><\/strong>,\nwhich is almost unheard of in today's modern-day mining industry.\nThis was Barrick's "fish on a hook" hole<\/strong> at Fourmile<\/strong>,\nwhich caused them to begin\n\ndrilling new<\/span>\nwidely spaced<\/span> holes\n<\/strong>\nlocated 300m to the north and south of hole 427.\n<\/p>\n\n

\nIn 2016,\nBarrick drilled<\/span> 8 new holes<\/strong>\nto a depth of 900m at Fourmile<\/strong> and\n2 of the 8 intercepted high-grade<\/span>\ngold<\/span><\/strong>.\nIn 2017,\nBarrick drilled<\/span> another 8 new holes<\/strong>\nat Fourmile<\/strong> and\n6 of the 8 intercepted high-grade<\/span>\ngold<\/span><\/strong>.\nAt the time of Barrick's 2018 Fourmile article<\/strong>,\nit was considered a\nnew high-grade discovery<\/strong><\/span>\nwith a\nfootprint<\/strong><\/span>\nmore than 600 meters long by 200 meters wide<\/strong>.\nNobody<\/strong><\/span> could\nimagine<\/strong><\/span> what it would later become!\n<\/p>\n\n

\nIn this article,\nBarrick’s CEO<\/strong> predicted that Fourmile<\/strong> will\n\n"rank among the top 10<\/span>\ngold<\/span>\nproducers<\/span> globally with\nindustry-leading<\/span>\noperating cash flows<\/span>"\n<\/strong>.\nHe explained,\n\n"Very few projects anywhere in the world today can offer this combination of grade, scale and cash flow.\nFourmile is one of those rare discoveries that has the potential to reset the industry cost curve."\n<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n

\nWestward Gold (CSE: WG)<\/strong> is about to\nlaunch drilling<\/strong><\/span>\nat their SSD Zone<\/strong> located\nadjacent<\/strong><\/span>\nto Barrick's Fourmile<\/strong>, where WG<\/strong> has been\ndiscovering<\/strong><\/span>\nthe same types<\/span><\/strong> of\nalteration<\/strong> found at Fourmile<\/strong>,\nincluding silicification<\/strong> and brecciation<\/strong>!\n<\/p>\n\n

\nTake a look at this sample from SSD Zone<\/strong> drill hole T902C<\/strong>:\n<\/p>\n\n

\nThis drill hole intercepted\n7 meters grading 6.92 g\/t gold<\/span><\/strong>\nincluding\n1.5 meters grading 17 g\/t gold<\/span><\/strong>!\nMineralization<\/strong> remains\nopen<\/strong><\/span>\nin all<\/span> directions<\/strong>,\nparticularly to the northeast and northwest, which is where WG<\/strong> will be\nfocusing<\/strong><\/span>\nits 2026 SSD Zone drilling<\/strong>!\n<\/p>\n\n
