The people running UFC<\/strong> and WWE<\/strong>, Ari Emanuel<\/strong> and Mark Shapiro<\/strong>, took the money they extracted from TKO<\/strong> last year through record bonuses and invested it yesterday into NFL franchise Las Vegas Raiders<\/strong>, buying minority stakes at an enterprise value of approximately $9.9 billion<\/strong><\/span>. This gives the Raiders a valuation multiple of approximately 12x revenue<\/span><\/strong>, compared to Celtic plc (LSE: CCP)<\/strong>, or CLTFF<\/strong> on the U.S. OTC market, which is trading at an enterprise value of only 1.20x revenue<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Outside of the natural resource sector, Celtic<\/strong> may represent one of the last great opportunities remaining<\/strong><\/span> in today’s market. It was announced this morning (click here<\/strong><\/a> to view) that Saturday's Celtic vs. Hearts<\/span><\/strong> match peaked at 1.37 million viewers<\/strong> on Sky Sports in the U.K., making it the highest-rated<\/span> Scottish football match<\/strong> in more than two years since Celtic vs. Rangers<\/strong> in April 2024 peaked at 1.44 million viewers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

The March 1st, 2026, Celtic vs. Rangers<\/strong> match peaked at 1.15 million viewers<\/strong>, while even a Rangers vs. Hearts<\/span><\/strong> match on February 15th peaked at 674,000 viewers<\/strong> (click here<\/strong><\/a> to view). With Celtic<\/strong> and Rangers<\/strong> now having a legitimate third contender in Hearts<\/strong><\/span>, the Scottish Premiership<\/strong> appears to be rapidly growing<\/strong><\/span> in popularity, which could ultimately lead to far more lucrative<\/span> television rights deals<\/strong> in the future.<\/p>\n\n

The NFL’s San Francisco 49ers<\/strong> sold a minority stake in the franchise last year at a valuation of approximately $8.5 billion<\/strong><\/span> and then immediately reinvested<\/strong><\/span> part of the proceeds into Celtic’s rival<\/span>, Rangers<\/strong>. Together with billionaire<\/span> U.S. healthcare tycoon Andrew Cavenagh<\/strong>, 49ers Enterprises<\/strong> acquired control<\/strong><\/span> of Rangers<\/strong> and has since injected significant capital<\/strong><\/span> into the club through two large private placements<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

If the Scottish Premiership<\/strong> continues to gain momentum globally ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup<\/strong> taking place across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, it is difficult to justify why Celtic plc<\/strong> should continue trading at such a massive valuation discount relative to U.S. professional sports franchises.<\/p>\n\n
