Its initial leadership came from <strong>Dundee Bancorp<\/strong> and <strong>Plexus Resources<\/strong>, with <strong>Dundee&#39;s Robert M. Buchan<\/strong> becoming <strong>Kinross Chairman and CEO<\/strong> and <strong>Plexus Resources&#39; Arthur Ditto<\/strong> becoming <strong>Kinross President and COO<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\"><strong>Plexus Resources<\/strong> <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>owned two main assets<\/strong><\/span>:<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\">1) A <span style=\"color:#2980b9;\"><strong>24% interest<\/strong><\/span> and <span style=\"color:#2980b9;\"><strong>2.45% NSR royalty<\/strong><\/span> in the <strong>Denton-Rawhide Mine<\/strong> in Nevada that was brought into <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>production<\/strong><\/span> in 1990 by its <strong>51% owner<\/strong>, <strong>Kennecott Minerals Company<\/strong>. <strong>Kinross<\/strong> later <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>increased its stake<\/strong><\/span> in the <strong>Denton-Rawhide Mine<\/strong> to <strong>49%<\/strong>, which operated through 2003 while <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>producing<\/strong><\/span> a total of <strong>1.6 million ounces of <span style=\"color:#f1c40f;\">gold<\/span><\/strong> and <strong>13.5 million ounces of <span style=\"color:#4e5f70;\">silver<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\">2) A <span style=\"color:#2980b9;\"><strong>100% interest<\/strong><\/span> in the <strong>Bornite Project<\/strong> in Oregon, a <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>high-grade<\/strong><\/span> <strong><span style=\"color:#d35400;\">copper<\/span><\/strong>, <strong><span style=\"color:#f1c40f;\">gold<\/span><\/strong>, and <strong><span style=\"color:#4e5f70;\">silver<\/span><\/strong> development project located in the Willamette National Forest in Marion County about 50 miles east of Salem.<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\">Prior to <strong>Plexus Resources <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">merging<\/span><\/strong> with <strong>CMP Resources<\/strong> and <strong>1021105 Ontario Corp<\/strong> in 1993 to form <strong>Kinross Gold (KGC)<\/strong>, which has become one of the <strong><span style=\"color:#2980b9;\">world&#39;s<\/span> <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">Top 10 largest producing<\/span> <span style=\"color:#f1c40f;\">gold<\/span> miners<\/strong> in terms of both <strong>annual <span style=\"color:#f1c40f;\">gold<\/span> <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">production<\/span><\/strong> and <strong>market cap<\/strong>, <strong>Plexus Resources<\/strong> in the early 1990s was <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>focused on advancing the high-grade<\/strong><\/span> <strong>Bornite Project<\/strong> toward <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>production<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\"><strong>Plexus Resources <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">gained ownership<\/span><\/strong> of the <strong><span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">high-grade<\/span> Bornite Project<\/strong> in 1989 from <strong>Cyprus Minerals<\/strong>, prior to <strong>Cyprus<\/strong> being <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>acquired for US$1.8 billion<\/strong><\/span> in late-1999 by <strong>Phelps Dodge<\/strong>. <strong>Phelps Dodge<\/strong> itself was <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>acquired for US$25.9 billion<\/strong><\/span> in 2007 by <strong>Freeport-McMoRan<\/strong> to form the <strong><span style=\"color:#2980b9;\">world&#39;s<\/span> <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">largest<\/span> <span style=\"color:#d35400;\">copper<\/span> <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">producer<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\"><strong>Plexus Resources <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">acquired<\/span><\/strong> the <strong><span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">high-grade<\/span> Bornite Project<\/strong> from <strong>Cyprus Minerals<\/strong> by <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>giving<\/strong><\/span> to <strong>Cyprus<\/strong> its <strong>Lyon <span style=\"color:#d35400;\">copper<\/span> assets<\/strong> in Yerington, Nevada, which were later <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>developed<\/strong><\/span> into the <strong>Pumpkin Hollow <span style=\"color:#d35400;\">copper<\/span> mine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\"><strong>Cyprus<\/strong> completed <strong>23,142 ft of drilling<\/strong> at the <strong><span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">high-grade<\/span> Bornite Project<\/strong> between 1975 and 1988, and <strong>Plexus<\/strong> completed <strong>16,419 ft of drilling<\/strong> at the <strong><span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">high-grade<\/span> Bornite Project<\/strong> in 1989 and 1990.<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\"><strong>Plexus<\/strong> quantified a historical non-NI 43-101 resource at <strong>Bornite<\/strong> of <strong>3.2 million tons at <span style=\"color:#d35400;\">2.2% copper<\/span>, <span style=\"color:#f1c40f;\">0.017 opt gold<\/span>, and <span style=\"color:#4e5f70;\">0.54 opt silver<\/span><\/strong>, containing <strong>138.5 million lbs of <span style=\"color:#d35400;\">copper<\/span><\/strong>, <strong>54,000 oz of <span style=\"color:#f1c40f;\">gold<\/span><\/strong>, and <strong>1.7 million oz of <span style=\"color:#4e5f70;\">silver<\/span><\/strong> at a 0.5% Cu cut-off grade.<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\"><strong>Ameriwest Critical Metals (CSE: AWCM)<\/strong> recently <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>gained 100% ownership<\/strong><\/span> of the <strong><span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">high-grade<\/span> <span style=\"color:#d35400;\">copper<\/span>, <span style=\"color:#f1c40f;\">gold<\/span>, and <span style=\"color:#4e5f70;\">silver<\/span> Bornite Project<\/strong> in Oregon.<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\"><strong>AWCM<\/strong> has the <strong>drill core<\/strong> and <strong>drilling data<\/strong> from prior operators and recently completed a <span style=\"color:#2980b9;\"><strong>3D geological model<\/strong><\/span> with APEX Geoscience to <strong><span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">define drill targets<\/span><\/strong>.
