We always love<\/strong><\/span> looking at the sentiment<\/strong><\/span> of dumb money<\/strong><\/span> by reading Reddit<\/strong> posts. If there is an active<\/span> subreddit<\/strong> dedicated<\/strong><\/span> to a single stock with thousands of followers cheerleading<\/span><\/strong>, it is always a red flag<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n\n

On January 1, 2025, NIA published an alert entitled, “There Is No Common Sense in the Market Anymore”<\/strong> (click here to read<\/a><\/strong>) with a Pierre Poilievre<\/strong> theme because we were hoping he would become Canadian Prime Minister<\/strong>, but to Mark Carney’s credit<\/strong>, he is a lot better<\/strong><\/span> than Trudeau<\/strong> and approved<\/strong><\/span> First Mining Gold (TSX: FF)’s Springpole Gold Project<\/span><\/strong> even though Pierre Poilievre<\/strong> was publicly supporting<\/strong><\/span> it (President Trump<\/strong> deserves<\/strong><\/span> credit<\/strong> for motivating<\/strong><\/span> Mark Carney<\/strong> to support<\/strong><\/span> the mining industry<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n

In our alert, we warned<\/strong><\/span> that the three most actively discussed<\/span> stocks<\/strong> on Reddit<\/strong> that everybody was bullish<\/strong><\/span> on, BigBear.ai (BBAI)<\/strong>, KULR Technology Group (KULR)<\/strong>, and Castellum (CTM)<\/strong>, had no<\/span> fundamental value<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

We highlighted<\/strong><\/span> that these investors would be smart<\/strong><\/span> to invest<\/strong><\/span> in One Stop Systems (OSS)<\/strong> instead, which was cash flow positive<\/strong><\/span> and selling its high-tech<\/span> AI solutions<\/strong> to the Army<\/strong>, Navy<\/strong>, and military defense contractors<\/strong> around the world.<\/p>\n\n

Here is the performance of OSS vs. BBAI, KULR, and CTM<\/strong> since NIA’s “No Common Sense” alert<\/span><\/strong>. The three favorite<\/span> stocks<\/strong> of Reddit<\/strong> posters, BBAI<\/strong>, KULR<\/strong>, and CTM<\/strong>, have declined by an average of 70.43%<\/strong><\/span> vs. NIA’s OSS gaining by 207.93%<\/span><\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n

This morning, we have been looking at posts mentioning Borussia Dortmund (ETR: BVB)<\/strong> in recent years, and these are the quotes that stand out:<\/p>\n\n

“I own the stock because I love Borussia Dortmund, not because I expect to make money.”<\/p>\n\n

“I have a small amount of shares… as a way of feeling more in touch with the club, not as an actual investment.”<\/p>\n\n

“More of a sentimental stock to own.”<\/p>\n\n

“Will hold them my whole life.”<\/p>\n\n

“My parents bought shares because they were fans.”<\/p>\n\n

“Buy it if you’re a fan. If you’re looking for returns, buy something else.”<\/p>\n\n

“Not something to buy for wealth creation.”<\/p>\n\n

“If you can reliably achieve a return of 7-9% in the medium term with dirt-cheap small-cap ETFs, I ask myself why you should bet on BVB shares in the long term for economic reasons.”<\/p>\n\n

“I know it’s probably a poor investment, but I love the club.”<\/p>\n\n

Borussia Dortmund (ETR: BVB)<\/strong> is probably only the third-best<\/span> professional sports stock<\/strong> after Celtic plc (LSE: CCP)<\/strong> and Manchester United (MANU)<\/strong>, but it has a 100% chance<\/strong><\/span> of outperforming<\/strong><\/span> the S&P 500<\/strong> over the next year, and these posts confirm<\/strong><\/span> it.<\/p>\n\n

Try searching<\/strong><\/span> Reddit<\/strong> or X<\/strong> for posts about TiO2<\/strong> as an investment, and you will find absolutely zero<\/strong><\/span> discussion<\/strong> about it even though it is the #1 most important<\/span> mineral<\/strong> that we interact<\/strong><\/span> with daily. Look around the room you are in. If the wall is white, the ceiling is white, or you have white wall fixtures, you have TiO2<\/strong> all over your house. Look at the ingredients<\/strong><\/span> in your sunscreen<\/strong>. It almost definitely contains TiO2<\/strong>. Without TiO2<\/strong>, we would have no<\/span> fighter jets<\/strong> or robotics<\/strong>. It is the world’s most important<\/span> mineral<\/strong> for literally everything!<\/p>\n\n

We need to build millions of new<\/span> homes<\/strong> in America to reduce<\/span> housing prices<\/strong> relative<\/strong><\/span> to incomes<\/strong>. If we have a new<\/span> housing boom<\/span><\/strong> after the AI bubble<\/span><\/strong> goes bust<\/strong><\/span>, TiO2 stocks<\/strong> like Saga Metals (TSXV: SAGA)<\/strong> and Temas Resources (CSE: TMAS)<\/strong> will increase<\/strong><\/span> the most<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n\n

Moving forward, whichever stocks<\/strong> are the most boring<\/strong><\/span> and that the fewest<\/span> people<\/strong> consider a good investment<\/strong><\/span> will be the stocks<\/strong> that outperform<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n\n
