Westward Gold (CSE: WG) gained by 5.41%<\/span><\/strong> on Friday to $0.195 per share<\/strong> and hit a new 52-week high<\/strong><\/span> of $0.20 per share<\/strong>. WG’s market cap<\/strong> is still only US$32.89 million<\/strong> when they are drilling<\/strong><\/span> directly adjacent<\/strong><\/span> to Fourmile<\/strong>, the #1 largest high-grade <\/strong><\/span>gold<\/strong><\/span> discovery<\/strong><\/span> of the century that will act as the cornerstone<\/strong><\/span> of Barrick’s record-breaking<\/span> North American IPO<\/strong> coming later this year.<\/p>\n\n

We so far have only gotten assay results<\/strong> for the first<\/strong><\/span> of three trenches<\/strong>. The other two trenches<\/strong> have assays pending<\/strong><\/span>. WG<\/strong> has also drilled<\/span> two shallow<\/span> core holes<\/strong> proximal to the trench where they just discovered high-grade<\/span> gold<\/span><\/strong>, for the purpose<\/strong><\/span> of further confirming<\/strong><\/span> structural<\/strong> and stratigraphic controls<\/strong> on gold mineralization<\/strong><\/span> so they can best direct the really deep RC holes<\/strong> towards the potential Fourmile-like high-grade<\/span> gold<\/span><\/strong> at depth.<\/p>\n\n

We totally agree with WG’s Lead Technical Advisor Steve Koehler<\/strong>, who said on Tuesday, “It’s hard<\/span> to come by a more compelling<\/span> set of targets<\/span> in Carlin-type exploration and we’re very excited to get holes down imminently.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n
