Newmont (NEM)<\/strong> today agreed to pay<\/strong><\/span> Barrick (B)<\/strong> $1.95 billion in cash<\/strong><\/span> to add Fourmile<\/strong> to the Nevada Gold Mines Joint Venture<\/strong>, which is 38.5% owned<\/strong><\/span> by Newmont<\/strong> and 61.5% owned<\/strong><\/span> by Barrick<\/strong>. This transaction valued Fourmile<\/strong> at only US$5.065 billion<\/strong><\/span> when analysts estimate Fourmile<\/strong> to be worth $10-$20 billion<\/strong><\/span>. Because of this, Newmont gained by 3.79%<\/span><\/strong> today vs. Barrick declining by 6.45%<\/span><\/strong>. Based on the market reaction, we can pretty much infer a market value for Fourmile<\/strong> of $15 billion<\/strong><\/span>. Today’s settlement gives Barrick<\/strong> the greenlight<\/strong><\/span> for its North American IPO<\/strong> before year-end, which will make Fourmile<\/strong> a household name<\/strong><\/span> across America.<\/p>\n\n

Westward Gold (CSE: WG)<\/strong> has a market cap here at $0.185 per share<\/strong> of only US$31.21 million<\/strong> when their SSD Zone<\/strong> is directly adjacent<\/strong><\/span> to Fourmile<\/strong> with the same geophysical signatures<\/strong><\/span>. WG<\/strong> already knows for a fact<\/strong><\/span> that high-grade<\/span> gold<\/span><\/strong> exists in the SSD Zone<\/strong> near the same depths as where Barrick discovered<\/span> Fourmile<\/strong>. They have spent the last three years completing extensive multi-disciplinary groundwork<\/strong><\/span>, including systematic<\/span> 1:5000 scale Anaconda-style surface mapping<\/strong>, re-logging<\/strong><\/span> of thousands of meters<\/strong> of historical core<\/strong> and RC chips<\/strong>, and a 468-meter surface trenching program<\/strong> that exposed<\/span> high-angle faults<\/strong> and returned<\/span> high-grade<\/span> assays<\/strong> up to 17.90 g\/t Au<\/strong><\/span>. WG<\/strong> has also done airborne magnetic<\/strong>, gravity<\/strong>, and CSAMT geophysical surveys<\/strong> alongside surface geochemistry<\/strong> and 3D geological modeling<\/strong> to target high-priority extensions at depth<\/strong><\/span> and figure out where it is likely that enough high-grade<\/span> gold<\/span><\/strong> has pooled together<\/strong><\/span> in the same spot<\/strong><\/span> to form a Fourmile-like high-grade<\/span> gold deposit<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n
