{"id":983,"date":"2025-06-01T17:54:15","date_gmt":"2025-06-01T21:54:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.inflation.us\/news\/?p=983"},"modified":"2026-07-05T05:42:53","modified_gmt":"2026-07-05T09:42:53","slug":"canadas-next-major-mining-project-to-receive-environmental-assessment-decision","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.inflation.us\/news\/articles\/canadas-next-major-mining-project-to-receive-environmental-assessment-decision\/","title":{"rendered":"Canada&#8217;s Next Major Mining Project to Receive Environmental Assessment Decision"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div style=\"max-width:640px; margin:0 auto; color:#222222; font-family:Tahoma,Geneva,sans-serif; font-size:14px; line-height:1.5;\">\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\"><strong>First Mining Gold (TSX: FF)<\/strong>, currently trading at <strong>$0.155 per share<\/strong>, is being valued at <strong><span style=\"color:#e74c3c;\">less than<\/span> <span style=\"color:#f1c40f;\">US$10 per oz<\/span><\/strong> of <span style=\"color:#f1c40f;\"><strong>total gold resources<\/strong><\/span> despite <strong><span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">owning<\/span> two of Canada&#8217;s <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">largest<\/span> undeveloped <span style=\"color:#f1c40f;\">gold projects<\/span><\/strong>: <strong>Springpole<\/strong> in Ontario and <strong>Duparquet<\/strong> in Quebec.<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\">Among all <strong><span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">large-scale<\/span> undeveloped <span style=\"color:#f1c40f;\">gold projects<\/span><\/strong> in Canada, only <strong>three<\/strong> are <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>advanced<\/strong><\/span> in the <strong>permitting process<\/strong>. <strong>Springpole<\/strong> is the <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>most advanced<\/strong><\/span>, with an <strong>environmental assessment decision<\/strong> expected within the <strong>next 6 to 7 months<\/strong>, before year-end 2025.<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\">Based on:<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 10px;\">&#8226; <strong>Springpole&#8217;s 2021 Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS)<\/strong> using a base case of <span style=\"color:#f1c40f;\"><strong>$1,600 gold<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\">&#8226; <strong>Duparquet&#8217;s 2023 Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA)<\/strong> using a base case of <span style=\"color:#f1c40f;\"><strong>$1,800 gold<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\">The combined <strong>after-tax Net Present Value (NPV)<\/strong> of the two projects supports a <strong>First Mining Gold (TSX: FF) fundamental valuation<\/strong> of <strong>approximately $1.80 per share<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 10px;\">At <strong><span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">higher<\/span> <span style=\"color:#f1c40f;\">gold prices<\/span><\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 10px;\">&#8226; <span style=\"color:#f1c40f;\"><strong>$2,500 gold<\/strong><\/span> = <strong>$4+ per share<\/strong> valuation<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\">&#8226; <span style=\"color:#f1c40f;\"><strong>$3,000 gold<\/strong><\/span> = <strong>$6+ per share<\/strong> valuation<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\">On November 5, 2024, <strong>First Mining <span style=\"color:#2980b9;\">submitted<\/span><\/strong> its <strong>15,500-page Final Environmental Impact Statement \/ Environmental Assessment<\/strong> for <strong>Springpole<\/strong>, a <span style=\"color:#2980b9;\"><strong>critical milestone<\/strong><\/span> backed by <strong>14 years<\/strong> of <strong>baseline environmental data<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\"><strong>First Mining&#8217;s<\/strong> <strong>Springpole<\/strong> is on track to be <strong>Canada&#8217;s <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\">next<\/span> <span style=\"color:#2980b9;\">major<\/span> mining project<\/strong> to <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>receive<\/strong><\/span> its <strong>environmental assessment decision<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\">NIA is <span style=\"color:#27ae60;\"><strong>preparing<\/strong><\/span> a <strong><span style=\"color:#2980b9;\">full in-depth<\/span> First Mining Gold (TSX: FF) report<\/strong> for release <strong>Monday evening<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px; text-align:center;\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inflation.us\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/firstmininggoldassets.jpg\" alt=\"First Mining Gold Assets\" style=\"display:block; width:100%; max-width:640px; height:auto; margin:0 auto; border:0; outline:none; text-decoration:none;\">\n<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 14px;\"><span style=\"font-size:12px; line-height:1.4;\"><em>Past performance is not an indicator of future returns.
