Rick Rule’s Amazing Call on Talon: Greatest Drill Hole in Decades

On July 8th, Rick Rule tweeted that Mogotes Metals (TSXV: MOG) reported one of the "best drill holes I've seen in 50 years in exploration finance" and we looked at it and were like what is he talking about it's not even close. The market was already fully pricing in those types of intercepts for Mogotes, unlike with Super Copper (CSE: CUPR) and GSP Resource (TSXV: GSPR). GSPR is currently priced for failure at 1/38th of MOG's market cap when its initial assay results for 8 drill holes directly adjacent to Teck's Highland Valley Copper Mine, the #1 largest copper mine in all of Canada, will potentially be ready next week. Super Copper (CSE: CUPR) has two flagship district-scale copper projects in Chile near Mogotes, but at less than 1/9th of MOG's market cap, and will begin to publish its Cordillera Cobre assay results in early October. CUPR is a portfolio company of Apeiron Investment Group, which just sold its last company, AtaiBeckley, to Eli Lilly for billions. For CUPR and GSPR, almost nothing is priced in yet. If they report something even a fraction as good as Mogotes, they could get rerated immediately.

MOG has a close relationship with Rio Tinto, similar to Saga Metals (TSXV: SAGA). One of Rick Rule's biggest success stories is how he provided the initial funding for Altius Minerals (TSX: ALS), which became the world's #1 most successful prospect generator. ALS has made a fortune in Labrador because it acquired a royalty in Voisey's Bay, located to the north of SAGA's Wolverine Heavy Rare Earth Project. Altius was the first company to recognize the potential for Wolverine to become North America's #1 largest Heavy Rare Earth Project. SAGA acquired Wolverine this year and its maiden drill program launched last month. A total of 249 surface samples at Wolverine assayed for Dysprosium and Yttrium across a massive footprint of approximately 26 sq km. The price of Dysprosium outside of China is up 41.77% year-to-date in 2026 and is priced 6.7x higher than Dysprosium in China. The price of Yttrium outside of China is up 36.96% year-to-date in 2026 and is priced 188x higher than Yttrium in China.

Rick Rule is also an investor in Talon Metals (TSX: TLO), and they legitimately did report yesterday what NIA considers the #1 greatest drill hole that we have seen in our 20 years of researching junior mining/exploration stocks. Talon intercepted 46.43 meters grading 13.37% Ni, 16.54% Cu, 0.10% Co, 7.85 g/t Pd, 14.49 g/t Pt, and 8.56 g/t Au. NIA would like to congratulate Rick Rule and Talon on their amazing drill hole at the Tamarack Nickel Project's Vault Zone in Minnesota.

Rick Rule made an amazing call on Talon, and his Altius is likely to be proven right about Wolverine as soon as SAGA begins to report initial assay results.

Talon's drill intercept started at a depth of 752.97 meters downhole, similar to where Barrick discovered Fourmile, the #1 largest high-grade gold discovery of the century. This is why Westward Gold (CSE: WG) is raising $12 million at $0.25 per share, including large investments from some of the world's smartest strategic investors. WG has assays pending from its first 396.2-metre RC drill hole at its SSD Zone, directly adjacent to Fourmile. WG is about to drill four more 914-metre-deep RC holes targeting the hanging wall of Fault-N, where they believe there is potential to discover Fourmile-like high-grade gold.

NIA predicts that WG's planned four deep holes have potential for some of the highest-grade gold discoveries in Nevada history:

Talon's Tamarack Nickel Project in Minnesota has an indicated resource of 8.56 million tonnes grading 1.73% nickel for 326 million pounds of nickel, plus an inferred resource of 8.46 million tonnes grading 0.83% nickel for 154 million pounds of nickel.

Homeland Nickel (TSXV: SHL)'s Cleopatra Project in Oregon has a total historical resource estimate of 39.474 million tons grading 0.93% nickel for 733.15 million pounds of nickel.

Homeland Nickel (TSXV: SHL)'s Red Flat Project in Oregon has a total historical resource estimate of 18.761 million tons grading 0.84% nickel for 316.61 million pounds of nickel.

Between Cleopatra and Red Flat, Homeland Nickel (TSXV: SHL) has total historical resources of approximately 1.05 billion pounds of nickel!

Homeland Nickel's Cleopatra and Red Flat projects feature nickel that occurs at surface and is hosted in laterite soils, meaning extraction could resemble large-scale earthmoving operations rather than conventional hard-rock mining. In many cases, the first 20–40 feet of material can be removed without drilling or blasting, similar to a gravel-pit operation, potentially allowing for lower-cost and more scalable mining scenarios.

Temas Resources (CSE: TMAS) owns patented RCL technology that would allow for the low-cost processing of Homeland Nickel's nickel laterite (US Patent 10,053,750 B2).
