The Missing Piece of World-Class Cortez Gold District
World renowned geologist and Westward Gold (CSE: WG) Chairman Dr. Quinton Hennigh believes that WG’s 84 sq km Toiyabe District is a critical, missing piece of the world-class Cortez Gold District that physically shifted due to tectonic movement. While working as a senior research geologist for Newmont in 2007, Dr. Hennigh conducted a palinspastic reconstruction of the Great Basin. This geological method essentially “undoes” millions of years of crustal stretching and faulting to see where landmasses originally sat.
Through this mapping he concluded that WG’s Toiyabe District is a rifted part of the Cortez area that broke off and shifted away from the main complex over time. If you slide the Toiyabe block back to its original, pre-extended position, it sits directly alongside the multi-million-ounce Cortez Complex. Because they were once connected, Westward Gold (CSE: WG)’s land package shares the exact same regional structural, magmatic, and stratigraphic system. This includes WG’s SSD Target sharing key attributes with Barrick’s Fourmile Deposit, the largest high-grade gold discovery of the century!
So just because WG might not have near-term development/production potential like Xali Gold (TSXV: XGC), doesn’t mean that WG won’t become among our best performing gold stocks of all-time.
