Westward Gold Gains 5.41% to 5-Year Closing High of $0.195 Per Share
Westward Gold (CSE: WG) gained by 5.41% today to $0.195 per share, its highest closing price of the last 5 years.
WG last drilled at the SSD Zone in early 2023 and discovered high-grade gold at the same depth as the directly adjacent Fourmile deposit. WG hit a high in April 2023 of $0.20 per share during a severe bear market for gold stocks.
When WG hit $0.20 per share on April 18, 2023, VanEck Gold Miners ETF (GDX) was $34.55 per share, and VanEck Junior Gold Miners ETF (GDXJ) was $41.45 per share.
Today, GDX is $90.96 per share, or 163.27% above its April 18, 2023, share price.
Today, GDXJ is $119.49 per share, or 188.28% above its April 18, 2023, share price.
GDX and GDXJ are up an average of 175.78%, and many junior gold explorers have increased 5-10x in value during the same time period.
A gain of 175.78% from $0.20 per share would equal $0.55 per share. The thing is: nobody had a clue in April 2023 how huge Fourmile (located directly adjacent to WG’s district-scale land package) was about to become, with the same geophysical signatures as WG’s SSD Zone. Later this year, Fourmile will serve as North American Barrick’s cornerstone asset when it goes public in the largest gold IPO in history.
The only other gold stock we could find that appears to have similar upside potential from its current share price is Xali Gold (TSXV: XGC), which recently acquired Pico Machay from Pan American Silver (PAAS) and remains undiscovered.
