The Defense Metal Nobody Is Watching Right Now

All of the focus right now is on antimony, tungsten, and rare earth elements (REEs), but one of the most critical materials for modern aerospace and defense is titanium… and almost nobody is paying attention to it.

At the moment, titanium is not being treated as a strategic metal by the market, but that could change quickly as the U.S. ramps up production of next-generation fighter jets and defense systems.

There is a little-known emerging titanium-vanadium-iron discovery near Cartwright, Labrador, Canada… and the company behind it has been consistently hitting strong mineralization in every drill hole.

The company is SAGA Metals Corp. (TSXV: SAGA), currently $0.475 per share and on March 18th it reported results from its latest three drill holes:

Hole R-0018: 70.3 m @ 42.64% Fe₂O₃, 5.66% TiO₂, 0.288% V₂O₅
Hole R-0019: 45.7 m @ 49.51% Fe₂O₃, 6.56% TiO₂, 0.374% V₂O₅
Hole R-0020: 40.7 m @ 37.62% Fe₂O₃, 4.93% TiO₂, 0.239% V₂O₅

These intercepts highlight a large-scale Fe–Ti–V system, with consistent iron, titanium, and vanadium mineralization across wide intervals.

A few weeks earlier, SAGA released results from its first two holes of 2026:

Hole R-0016: 50.60 m @ 52.05% Fe₂O₃, 7.21% TiO₂, 0.375% V₂O₅
Hole R-0017: 90.01 m @ 51.86% Fe₂O₃, 6.76% TiO₂, 0.417% V₂O₅

These results demonstrate strong grades for a bulk-tonnage system, with meaningful vanadium credits and consistent titanium values.

SAGA has now confirmed mineralization in 36 out of 36 drill holes, with two primary mineralized zones identified to date.

Current drilling is focused on the Trapper Zone, but the broader Radar property spans 24,175 hectares and covers the entire Dykes River intrusive complex (~160 km²)… a scale rarely seen among Western explorers.

Geological mapping, geophysics, and trenching have already confirmed oxide layering over more than 20 km of strike, with mineralization open in multiple directions.

In 2026 alone, SAGA has completed 21 holes (R-0016 to R-0036), including very thick oxide intercepts such as:

154.77 m (R-0026)
151.41 m (R-0032)

Both consisting predominantly of semi-massive oxide with extensive rhythmic layering, reinforcing the potential for a large, continuous mineralized system.

Most investors are chasing metals already in crisis… while ignoring one that is essential to modern defense and still completely out of favor.
